Make Sure You Have the Right Insoles for Golf
To find the right golf insoles, start by identifying your foot type. The three foot types are:
- Flat feet where your arch collapses and you overpronate or roll inwards as you walk.
- High arched feet are usually rigid, lack natural shock absorbtion and roll out or over supinate.
- Neutral foot types are in between with a natural gait which neither rolls in or out too much.
Each type requires a different level of arch support and flexibility. If you are not sure which type you are then you can try the wet foot test.

Overpronators
Overpronators with flat feet need firmer, stabilising support to prevent overpronation (rolling inwards). The Advanced F3D Support+ Insole is the one for you!
Underpronators/Supinators
Golfers with high arches benefit from extra cushioned insoles that absorb impact and fill the space under the arch. We recommend the Advanced F3D Cushion+ Insole.
Neutral feet
Golfers lucky enough to be born with neutral feet still benefit from additional cushioning and support for even pressure distribution. The Advanced F3D Neutral Insole is ideal.
It’s also worth considering your golf shoes and playing conditions. Some golfers prefer thinner insoles for a closer “ground feel” during the swing, while others prioritise extra cushioning for walking comfort. If possible, try your insoles in your actual golf shoes and test how they feel during a few swings and a short walk. The right pair should feel supportive but natural — reducing fatigue and helping you maintain a solid, consistent stance all round long.
Why Insoles Are Important in Golf
Golf might look smooth and low-impact, however, every round puts your feet through hours of standing, walking, and powerful rotational movement. The golf swing relies on balance and stability — your feet are the foundation that control how your weight transfers through the swing. If your feet aren’t properly supported, small imbalances can throw off your timing, reduce your power, and cause fatigue or pain over 18 holes.
Quality golf insoles provide that essential support and alignment. They stabilise your stance, cushion impact as you walk the course, and reduce stress on your feet, knees, and lower back. With the right support, you can maintain better posture throughout the swing, generate more consistent power, and stay comfortable from the first tee to the final putt. In short, good insoles don’t just make your feet feel better — they help your game stay strong all day.
